The works involved the construction of seven rock groynes running perpendicular to the shoreline on the beach at Southwold in Suffolk. The rock was reclaimed from the foreshore during low tides, after delivery by Stema Shipping. At the end of each shift, the geotextile had to be placed underwater with rock core and armour in order to protect it from the next tide.
