Jones Bros reclaimed 40,000m2 land from the sea. One third of this land received permanent full construction of capping, subbase, DBM road base with 80mm keyblock.

The £4.3m development involved the construction of an off shore rock breakwater containing over 150,000 tonnes of locally produced rock core and armour, and the infilling behind of 240,000m3 of dredged sand.

The whole operation was carefully managed to take account of tidal and weather variations and was completed to a very strict programme.
